Fairways Bar & Grill, located at 3706 Teays Valley Road in Hurricane, delivered an exceptional experience during their themed event, “A Night in Spain.” The culinary excellence was evident, reminiscent of our equally exquisite previous attendance at “A Night in Tuscany.” Let’s dive into the highlights of this remarkable evening:
Charcuterie Board featuring chorizo serrano, Manchego, and goat cheeses, along with an array of accompaniments, set the stage for an exquisite dining experience. The Red Callet from Mallorca paired seamlessly, offering a nice and smooth introduction.
Pistou Soup, a vegetable delight with a dollop of pesto and a crusty bread slice, paired with Emilio Moro Tempranillo, left us utterly enchanted. The dry and spicy notes of the wine perfectly complemented the flavors of the dish.
Salad, featuring spring mix lettuce, Manchego cheese, asparagus, and a roasted red pepper vinaigrette, although paired with a slightly sweet Quibia White Callet, showcased a delightful medley of textures and tastes.
Spanish Seafood Paella stole the spotlight, with its tender and juicy calamari, mussels, and shrimp, albeit on the spicier side. Paired with Marques de Caceras Rioja Gran Reserva, it created a symphony of flavors that left a lasting impression.
Basque Cheesecake with raspberry icing concluded the feast on a sweet note and WOW! While we skipped the bourbon pecan and “Jamaican Me Crazy” coffee, the cheesecake itself was a sublime treat.
Overall, Fairways Bar & Grill proved to be a haven for culinary enthusiasts, and we eagerly anticipate what their next tasting has in store. Highly recommended for an exceptional dining experience.
Cheers!
